This study was done to confirm the efficacy on C TRAC. The most improtant aspect of scientific research is that the results are reproducible. This study was done to confirm the findings on the initial research on C TRAC. The complete research paper and abstract was written by the researches at the Workers Compensation system in P.R. It was done in a Workers Compensation population and the results confirmed C TRAC is very effective in the treament of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The Abstract is below.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the efficacy of the CTRAC device by the company MeDevice and approved by the FDA, in patients diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), shown through electromyographic studies and with a minimum pain level of 5/10, on a scale of pain between 0 and 10 (“VAS”).

The sample consisted of eighteen (18) patients from the Aguadilla Region. They were treated using only CTRAC traction, three times (3) a day, for four weeks (4), without any conservative medicinal treatment, physical therapy, occupational therapy, splints, visits to the doctor or other medical treatments.

The results clinically and statistically showed a constant decrease in the symptoms of pain, numbness and tingling according to the numerical average of the “Visual Analog Scale (VAS)” measurements of the patients, in accordance with their level of severity, between Baseline and the fourth week of follow-up (Graphs I, II, III, IV, V, VI). In addition, the frequency with which patients woke up at night decreased (Table VIII).

Amongst the participating patients, 11 (61.11%) expressed a high level of satisfaction, while 5 (27.78%) expressed an average level and 2 (11.11%) expressed a low level of satisfaction with the CTRAC treatment (Table IX).

Clinical Finding: CTRAC traction is effective for treating symptoms of CTS.
